100 Days of Prayer for Our Nation

January 28th, 2017

The National CWU Unit has called for 100 Days of Prayer for our Nation from January 20 through April 30, 2017.  You can jump in at any time.  The scriptural basis is I Timothy 2:1-2:  First, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and a quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

The Rev. Carolyn L. Boyd, CWU National Chair for Social Action, said:  “We want to be in solidarity with all persons in this country who choose unity over divisive hate-speak, who choose tolerance over ignorance.  When we gather collectively in sacred prayer, we know prayer changes things, and we want to facilitate healing and reconciliation in our nation after a contentious presidential campaign and election season.”

You can find more information on the 100 Days of Prayer on the CWU National’s website:  www.churchwoman.org.
